The United Arab Emirates Visa information

Visa Requirements

Documents required:

  • You will require a UAE Tourist Visa, which will allow you access into the UAE for no longer than 30 days. You will not be able to take up long-term residency or gain employment with this type of Visa. Visas can be granted for longer than 30 days, at an additional cost. Contrary to all other traditional visas, this visa will be issued 100% electronically, without having to enter a consulate or embassy.
  • Documents required:
    • Visa Application form (only available online).
    • A clear copy of your passport. This must include the biographical data page, as well as all used pages, including previous visas, as well as all the pages that have been stamped.
    • 2 x passport photos – 43mm x 55mm; the background of the photo must be white; the photo must be in colour; your hair must be pushed back and there must be no obstructions to your face; no smiling.
    • Your flight itinerary, confirming your return ticket home, or proof of onward travel.
    • Proof of accommodation. This could be in the form of a hotel reservation/voucher or confirmation of booking from your place of accommodation. Each guest name must reflect clearly on these, and it must show proof of accommodation for all time spent in the UAE.
    • If you are staying with a host whilst in the UAE, please provide the following:
      • Proof of your relationship to the host (marriage or birth certificates).
      • Proof of the host’s residential status (Resident’s visa).
      • Proof of the host’s financials (certified copy of their work contract or income certificate).
    • A Cover Letter. This would outline why you want to go to the UAE, what you will be doing whilst in the UAE and where you will be going in the UAE etc.
    • Proof of travel/health insurance. This must cover both medial and repatriation expenses. This must be valid for the entire time you are in the UAE.
    • Proof of financial means. This would come in the form of your 3-month bank statements (the latest) which must have the original bank stamp on each page. You need to have enough available funds in your account to prove that you can support yourself whilst in the UAE.
    • Proof of your current address – this could be in the form of a utilities bill, bank statement etc.
    • Proof of your relationship status. If you are married or divorced, you must provide the relevant certificates.
